The 2021 Alentejo Tinto, an unoaked blend of Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, and Aragonez, captures Alentejo's essence. Hand harvested grapes undergo meticulous vinification, including a cold soak for enhanced aromatics and colour. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature preserves fruit flavours and smooth tannins, resulting in a vibrant ruby-red wine, balanced palate and refreshing acidity. Despite the heatwave at the beginning of August temporarily halting ripening, the Vidígueira 2021 vintage, harvested early from 11th August to 23rd September, showcases the region's warmth and winemaking expertise.

Winemaker Luís Cabral de Almeida has a wealth of global experience having studied in France and Australia and spent a decade in Argentina.. He emphasises minimal intervention. Precision viticulture is carried out on the estate and each grape variety has been matched to its ideal plot.

A fuller bodied, intense but balanced wine, it’s a perfect partner for lightly spiced dishes, lamb, veal and poultry.

Alentejo red wines fuse local Portuguese grapes with Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, resulting in ripe, full-bodied, "New World" style wines. The region's reliable climate ensures quality and affordability, making it one of Europe's best-value wine regions.

Alentejo is southerly and inland. Distinct soils (granite, limestone, Mediterranean or schist), the long hours of exposure to the hot sun and a group of indigenous grape varieties enable the production of some great wines. Whites are aromatic, fresh and balanced, and the red wines, ruby or garnet coloured, are more intense, full-bodied and smooth.
