This 2021 vintage is a highly rated and well balanced red wine from Northern Portugal.

The 2021 vintage, marked by a typical Dão weather pattern, yielded grapes with remarkable aromatics and balance. The grapes were hand harvested by grape variety and by plot into 20kg boxes. Upon arrival at the winery the grapes were destemmed, crushed and then gravity fed into stainless-steel fermentation tanks. The different grape varieties were fermented separately for around eight days at an average temperature of 27ºC. 70% of the wine was aged in 225-litre used French oak barrels for eight months, the remainder in stainless steel tanks. At the end of this period, the final blend was assembled, and the wine was fined and filtered before bottling.
Beatriz Cabral de Almeida uses precision viticulture to get the best of Dão's indigenous grape varieties. Her approach marries tradition with innovation; her expertise in integrating varietal characteristics with modern winemaking techniques results in wines that are both expressive and elegantly crafted.

Dao Tinto blend wines are characterised by their rich, complex flavours, combining indigenous varieties like Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro for a harmonious profile.
In Dão's Terras de Senhorim region, precision viticulture and indigenous varieties thrive at altitudes up to 500 metres in granite soils. The climate features warm days and cool nights, ideal for slow grape ripening, resulting in wines with depth, vibrancy, and elegance. This region, favouring indigenous grape varieties, creates wines that beautifully express its unique environmental character.
